이 글은 擴張形 單一語 辭典에서의 用例의 役割이라는 관점에서 『표준』의 用例를 검토하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 2장에서는 『표준』의 現代國語 標準語 用言 標題項의 등재 양상을 분석, 用例 分析 對象 標題項을 결정하였다. 그 결과 用言類 主標題項 8,700여 항목, 어근형 표제항의 부표제항 용언 8,700여 항목, 일반 표준어 표제항의 부표제항 약 41,900개 항목을 합해 59,299개 용언 항목이 용례 제시 양상 검토 대상이 되었다. 이 중 용례가 제시되어 있는 것은 48.6%에 불과한 28,791개 항목뿐이다. 51.4%에 달하는 30,508 개 항목에는 단 하나의 용례도 제시되어 있지 않은 것을 확인하였다. 3장에서는 이들 有用例項을 분석하였는데, 검토 대상이 된 79,458개의 용례 중 22.85%가 引用例이고, 77.15%가 作成例임을 밝혔다. 아울러 피인용 작가의 수가 지나치게 적으면서, 일부 작가의 작품에서 인용된 예의 비율이 너무 높음과 일부 작품에서 인용된 예가 너무 높은 것이 문제임을 지적하였다. 4장에서는 『표준』의 일러두기와 『지침Ⅱ』에서 제시하고 있는 용례 제시 원칙이 실제 『표준』의 내용에는 제대로 반영되지 않은 문제를 지적하였고, 인용례의 중복, 표제어에 등재되지 않은 어휘가 용례에 쓰이는 문제, 일반적 의미와 다른 용법을 보이는 어휘 의미의 용례를 인용례가 아닌 작성례로 드는 문제 등을 지적하였다.

This paper aims to analyze the examples and citations in Pyojun-gugeo-daesajeon with the view to evaluating the suitability and completeness of them as expected in unabridged monolingual dictionary. In chapter 2, we analyzed how the verb head-words are treated and decided what head-words are to be chosen for the analysis of the examples and citations. We found that among about 59,000 verb entries, only 48.6%(about 28,800 entries) have the examples and/or citations and about 30,500 entries(51.4%) does not have any examples and/or citations. In chpater 3, we examined the entries which have examples and/or citations and found out that among 79,458 cases, only 22.85% were citations. The rest were written ones by the editors. We found out that the authors and works cited were to small, namely the total numbers of the writers cited is only 165. Furthermore, only 43 writers among 165 cited writers shared 76% of citations in Pyojun. In chapter 4, several problems in citations were analyzed. First, there are not a few cases that same sentences were used for multiful head-words. Second, there are many cases that words in the citations are not registerd as head-words. Third, there are many cases that words in the citations are not standard Korean.
