체육교사들은 기존의 실기평가와 수행평가와 관계에 대하여 혼돈된 개념을 가지고 있다. 실기평가와 수행평가가 동일한 개념인지 다른 개념인지 불분명하게 인식하고 있다. 이러한 사실은 실기평가에서 수행평가를 시행하는데 제약점으로 작용하고 있다. 이러한 필요성에 따라 본 연구는 체육 실기평가에서의 수행평가의 의미를 탐색하는 데 목적을 두고 수행하였으며 본 연구의 결과는 체육교육에서 수행평가를 올바로 시행하는데 일익을 담당할 것으로 기대된다. 본 연구의 결과는 세 부분으로 구성되어 있는데 첫 부분은 교육학에서의 본 수행평가의 의미를 탐색하였다. 둘째 부분은 현존하는 체육교과 수행평가의 문제점들을 제시하였으며, 마지막 부분에서는 수행평가적 실기평가의 본질이 무엇인지를 탐색하였다.

Among the physical education teachers is the confusion whether performance assessment and activity assessment are same or not. For this reason, there exist the limitations and errors while implementing assessment in the psychomotor domain. The purpose of this paper is to address the nature and meaning of the performance assessment in the psychomotor domain so that physical educators appropriately use the performance assessment based on the nature of activity tests. This paper has three parts. First, it is indicated the concept of performance assessment in education. Second, the problems and pending issues on performance assessment in physical education are addressed. Finally, it is discussed the nature of performance assessment in the psychomotor domain and the implications in physical education.
