이 논문은 黃順元의 長篇 『日月』이 지니고 있는 原型的 構造의 특성을 밝혀보는 데에 목적을 두었다. 『日月』은 神話의 상징적 의미를 작품의 문맥 속에 投影해 낸 小說이다. 이 작품에는 白丁 세계에 대한 자료 중 ‘牛公太子 神話’와 ‘염불형태의 敍事詩’가 삽입되어 있다. 이 둘을 합친 내용은 작품 전체의 事件 전개와 主題 형성에 영향을 주는 ‘原型’으로, 단순한 자료이거나 사실적 배경이 아닌, 神話와 내적인 공통점을 가진 現代小說에서 原型的 모티프의 기능을 하고 있다. 작품 전체의 構造는, 神話의 구조인 ‘떠남―시련―복귀’라는 通過祭儀와 결합되면서 同質性을 回復하는 흐름을 갖고 있다. 사건 속의 주요 인물들은 ‘우공태자’의 一代記에 대응되는 각자의 행위와 의식을 보여주면서 原型의 모티프와 병렬관계를 이룬다. 神話 속 주인공과 小說 속 주인공이 集團的 속성인 規範의 적용을 받아 개인적 고난을 겪으면서, 自我覺醒을 통해 同質性을 回復해 가는 공통점을 찾을 수 있다.

This study aims to clarify characteristics of archetype-based structure that Hwang Sun-won's full-length 「Ilwol(日月:the sun and the moon)」 contains. 「Ilwol」 is a novel that reflects a symbolic meaning of myth in context of the work. In this work is inserted ‘Myth of Ugongtaeja(牛公太子)’ and ‘epic poem in the form of a Buddhist invocation’ among materials on the world of butcher. As the content of having combined these two is 'archetype' of having influence upon the case development and the thematic formation in the whole work, it is functioning as archetype-based motive in modern novel, which has internal common point with myth, not simple material or realistic background. The structure in the whole work is having a flow of recovering homogeneity while being combined with the passage rite dubbed ‘leaving―trial―return,’ which is the structure of myth. Main characters in a case form parallel relationship with archetype motive while showing behavior and consciousness in each of corresponding to biography of ‘Ugongtaeja(牛公太子).’ The common point can be found that the hero in myth and the hero in novel proceed with recovering homogeneity through self-realization while suffering individual adversity by receiving the application of the norm, which is collective property.
