現代國語의 否定副詞 ‘안’과 否定敍述語 ‘않-’은 中世國語의 否定副詞 ‘아니’와 否定敍述語 ‘아니□-’에서 19세기 경 再構造化 되었다. 이들의 재구조화 과정은 獨自的인 것이 아니라 서로 영향을 주며 進行되었는데, 이 같은 재구조화 과정의 1차적 原因은 否定敍述語의 다양한 交替現象에 있다고 할 수 있다. 否定敍述語 ‘아니□-’의 再構造化 過程은 2段階로 나뉜다. 1段階의 재구조화는 ‘아니□-’가 ‘안□-’로 變化하는 단계로서 18세기 말에 시작된다. 이 재구조화의 영향으로 19세기 말에 否定副詞 ‘안’이 나타나기 시작한다. ‘안’의 재구조화가 獨自的이 아니라는 점은 構文의 性格에 따라 否定副詞 ‘안’의 出現 時期가 달라지는 것을 통해 알 수 있다. 2段階의 재구조화는 19世紀에 일어나는 ‘안□-’에서 ‘않-’으로의 變化이다. 이것은 單一語의 재구조화에 類推된 것으로서 ‘안□-’가 緊密合成語로 인식되었음을 보여 주는 것이다.

Negative adverb '안' and negative predicate ‘않-’ in Modern Korean is reconstructed from negative adverb ‘아니’ and negative predicate ‘아니 □-’ in Middle Korean toward the 19th century. The reconstruction of them is not irrelevant but interactive, which resulted from the various alternation of the negative predicate. The reconstruction of the negative predicate ‘아니□-’ is composed of two levels. In the first level, ‘아니□-’ is changed to ‘안□-’ in the late 18th century. This process affected the appearance of the negative adverb '안' in the 19th century. The appearance time of ‘안’ is various according to the grammatical constructions, which shows that the reconstruction of ‘안’ is relevant to the reconstruction of negative predicate. In the second level, ‘안□-’ is changed to ‘않-’ in the 19th century. This process is analogized to the reconstruction of the simple word, which shows that ‘안□-’ is recognized as the strict compound.
