本考는 大統領 就任辭에 쓰이는 聽衆 呼稱 表現의 유형을 살피고 이를 바탕으로 그 의미와 기능을 살펴본 것이다. 그 동안 대통령 취임사의 聽衆 呼稱 表現은 단순히 談話의 시작을 알리거나 聽衆과의 親和 關係를 造成하는 등의 談話的 機能을 擔當하는 것으로 이해되었다. 그런데 이 표현은 취임사의 巨視·微視構造를 分揀하는 한편, 意味 層位나 텍스트의 脈絡에 따라 다양한 形態로 실현되면서 텍스트의 內容을 區別해주는 등의 기능을 담당한다. 가령 單獨的인 ‘국민 여러분’ 類型과 修飾 成分을 同伴하는 ‘국민 여러분’ 類型이 交叉하면서 쓰이는 경우에 前者와 後者가 각각 下位·上位 巨視構造를 牽引하는 점을 具體的인 例로 들 수 있다. 그런 점에서 이 表現은 談話 標識的인 쓰임새를 보이는 것으로도 해석할 수 있다. 聽衆 指稱 表現은 視覺的인 便利를 위한 장치로 쓰이면서 취임사의 文段 區分 方式과도 밀접한 관련을 갖는다.

This study aims at considering the style of a presidential inaugural centering on the expression of an addressing. Meanwhile, it was understood that the addressing in a presidential inaugural takes charge of the discourse function as telling the start of a discourse or creating the rapport between the president and the audience. By the way, these expressions take charge of the textual functions in the presidential inaugural as distinguishing between the macrostructures and the micro- structures, and these are expressed as the various form following the level of a macrostructure or the context of a text, and distinguish between the context of a text. For example, in case of the simple ‘gukmin yeoreobun(국민 여러분)’ type and the ‘gukmin yeoreobun’ type which is accompanied by a modification constituent are used intersectly each other, the former draws a subordinate macrostructure and the latter draws a superordinate macrostructure. In those points, these expressions are analyzed as the form which takes charge of a discourse marker. An addressing is used for the means of a visual convenience, and it is closely related with the way of sectioning the paragraphs. In relation, it seems that the function of sectioning the paragraphs of an addressing explicitly acts on the recent two inaugurals.
