본고는 흐루쇼브스키의 隱喩이론를 활용하여 박목월의 중기시집 蘭·其他, 晴曇 에 나타난 ‘自然’이 어떠한 隱喩的意味網속에서 시적 의미를 生成하는지 밝히고, 이를 통하여 그의 認識의 擴張과 美學的更新을 照明하였다. 2장에서는 그의 중기시에 流動的自然隱喩가 형성되어 地上的존재의 限界意識과 이로 인한 虛無感이 具體化되고 있음을 논의하였다. 이는 주로 인간의 자연화 양상으로 나타나고 있다. 3장에서는 그의 중기시에 不動的自然隱喩가 형성되어 有限者의 限界를 극복하려는 超越的慾望이 구체화되고 있음을 논의하였다. 이것은 自然의 인간화 내지는 신성화 樣相으로 드러나고 있다. 박목월 중기시에는 流動的自然隱喩와 不動的自然隱喩가 형성되어 有限者의 限界性과 더불어 이를 극복하려는 超越志向性이 형상화되고 있다. 본고는 그의 多層的인 想像力의 體系를 總體的으로 파악하였다는 점에서 意義를 지닌다.

The objective of this study is to examine in what metaphoric meaning-network the ‘Nature' described in Park Mok-wol's middle period poetry collections Ran·Gita(蘭·其他), Cheong-dam(晴曇) creates poetic meanings, and to cast a light on his cognitive extension and esthetic renewal by utilizing Hrushovski's theory on metaphor. The second chapter discusses that flexible nature metaphors are observed in Park Mok-wol's middle period poems, and that his sense of limitation as human beings as well as a sense of futility are materialized. These aspects are revealed through the naturalized aspects of human beings. The third chapter explores that everlasting nature metaphors revealed in Park's middle period poems exhibit his desire for self-transcendence to overcome the limits of mortals. It is revealed through the aspects of the humanization or sanctification of the nature. All in all, Park's middle period poems vividly deliver a sense of frustration originated from fearing the limited fate of mortals and at the same time demonstrate his transcendent will to get over the human limitations through the expressions of ‘flexible nature metaphors' , ‘everlasting nature metaphors'. This paper has a meaning in that it contributes to understanding Park's metaphoric imagination by unveiling the metaphoric system established by the ‘Nature' in Park's middle era poems.
