본고는 제4차 産業革命의 특성을 고려하여 국어교육의 방향을 新人本主義에 기초한 고차적 언어 사고력을 지향하는 교육으로 나아가야 한다고 주장한다. 첫째, 국어교육에서 의사소통 도구로서의 언어 기능을 강조하는 것은 사고의 깊이보다는 능숙성과 효율성에 기반하는 것인데, 이는 4차 산업 시대에서는 더 이상 필요 없는 가치이다. 특히 認知主義를 기반으로 ‘認知’를 강조하는 것은 ‘人間’을 중시하는 것과는 확연히 다르다. 둘째, 국어교육의 미래는 진정한 ‘인간’이 중심이 되는 교육내용으로 전환되어야 한다. 셋째, 현재의 교육은 개별화된 개인의 창조성을 강조한다. 이를 실행하기 위해 그동안 자기 자신의 효율성, 능숙성, 개인적 능력에 집중되었던 언어 기능, 탐구, 감상의 모든 언어활동들이 다른 사람과의 共有, 尊重, 配慮 속에서 구성되는 것만이 의미 있는 것임을 인식해야 한다. 또한 ‘언어’에 치중되었던 교과의 무게를 ‘인본주의적 사고’로 중심 이동해야 하며, 이것이 어쩌면 교과적 정체성을 흔들 수도 있는 것임을 받아들여야 할지도 모른다.

The study argues that considering the characteristics of the fourth industrial revolution, the direction of the Korean language education should be directed toward higher education, targeting the new humanistic language education based on new humanism. For this purpose, the following problems were reviewed : Emphasis on language as a communication tool in Korean language education is based on skills and efficiency rather than the depth of thought. In particular, emphasizing cognitive skills is markedly different from developing human abilities. Therefore future of Korean language education should be changed into a truly human education. The new humanism begins with a reflection on self-centeredness of humanism. The current education emphasizes the creativity of individualized human being. The individualized education leads to isolated creativity. Also, competition with artificial intelligence creates frustration with humans. Therefore, the content of education that we need in the future is more human education. Thus, the future education of the Korean language should be aimed at creating concrete problem-solving competency based on new humanism, namely consideration and respect for others, community spirit and conjunctive-complex thinking.
