첫째 본 연구는 최영과 남이 그리고 임경업장군에 관련된 일군의 전승을 원혼장군형 전승이라고 규정하고 이들 전승의 원동력을 `한`의 동일시 현상을 통한 피지배계층의 `자기 목소리 내기`라고 보았다. 전승을 끊임없는 생산이라고 본다면 원혼장군형 전승의 동인은 결국 `한`의 동일시를 통한 끊임없는 자기 목소리 내기이기 때문이다. 우리 민족의 역사는 내우외환으로 상처받고 얼룩져 있다. 이런 상처와 얼룩이 `한`이라는 정서를 배태했고 다양한 경로를 통해 표출되기에 이르렀다. 둘째 본 연구는 원혼장군형 전승과 향유집단과의 관계를 지역성과 관련하여 살폈다. 그 결과 향유집단은 지배계층에 의해 억압받고 상처받은 피지배계층들이었다는 사실을 알았다. 그들은 자신들의 상처를 극복할 수 있는 존재를 갈구했다. 그 존재가 바로 원혼장군들이었다. 향유집단은 원혼장군들을 통해 상처를 극복하고자 했으며, 나아가 원혼장군들이 가진 능력을 통해 자신들의 긍정적 미래를 보장받으려 원혼장군형 전승을 이어가고 있다.

This study first set out to define the transmission of the group related to Choi Yeong, Nam Yi, and Im Gyeong-eop generals as transmission of vengeful spirit-type generals, and to regard the driving force of the transmission as the subjugated classes `asserting their rights` through the identification phenomenon with `resentment`. When the transmission is regarded as ceaseless production, the driver of vengeful spirit-type general transmission functions to constantly assert their rights through the identification with `resentment`. The history of the Korean people was stained by internal and external troubles. These wounds were pregnant with the sentiment of `resentment`, one that had been expressed in diverse ways. Second, this study investigated the relation between vengeful spirit-type general transmission and the savoring group in terms of locality. The results of the investigation found that the savoring group was the subjugated classes who were oppressed and wounded by the ruling classes. The subjugated classes longed for somebody to heal their wounds, namely the vengeful spirit generals. The savoring group tried to overcome their wounds through them. In addition to that, they have inherited the transmission of vengeful spirit-type generals to ensure their positive future through the vengeful spirit generals` abilities.
