본고는 공감의 덕목을 통해 신라 향가 작품에 나타난 공감의 요인과 의미를 분석하였다. 먼저 향가를 통하여 공감이 어떻게 구현되는가를 살피는 과정에서 공감의 유형을 정서적 공감과 인지적 공감으로 나누고 각기 해당되는 대표 작품을 분석하였다. 이 과정에서 기억을 매개로 공감이 형성되는 경우도 함께 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 특히 정서적 인지적 공감을 통한 인간애의 발현이 중요한 주제로 부각되는 것을 확인하였다. 이상의 논의는 신라 향가 작품을 대상으로 공감의 다양한 요인을 살피고 한국시가사에서 신라 향가의 가치체계적 의미를 규명하였다는 의의와 더불어 종간공동체 구성을 위한 덕목으로 공감의 덕목을 제안하였다는 의의를 지닌다.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the `Empathy` aspects and meanings of the hangga-the silla folksong- in Samgukyusa. First, I explain the meaning and types of `Empathy` as emotional empathy and cognitive empathy. Emotional empathy appeal to the emotion and mind. And cognitive empathy appeal to the perception and acknowledge. Second, emotional empathy is appealed by emotion and sentiment. < Jemangmega >, Woojeokga>, < Cheonsudaebiga >, < Woonga > are included this type. And cognitive empathy is appealed by perception. < Heunhwaga >, < Anminga >, < Cheuyongga > are included this type. And some works of Hyangga can be analyzed by memory study method. < Haesungga >, < Changiparangga >, < Mojukjirangga > are included this type. Because Sometimes memory occur the instinct of imitation by the Aspects of Re-enactment. Finally, we understand that mankind need human love and cooperation to improve the empathy and improving empathy is contribute the improve of the human love.
