자동차의 가혹한 운전조건하에서의 엔진오일의 경우 내스커핑성은 윤활특성에 상당히 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 엔진오일의 윤활특성을 향상시키기 위하여 자동차 엔진오일에 Zn-DTP를 첨가하고, 펠렉스 마찰 마모시험기를 사용하였다. 연구결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 자동차 엔진오일에 Zn-DTP를 첨가했을 때 내마모성, 극압성이 월등히 뛰어났고, 온도특성 또한 우수하였으며, 첨가제의 사용이 적극 고려해야 할 것이다.

In the case of automobile engine oil which is used under severe running condition, the anti-scuffing, lubricational characteristic is very important. We have studied the lubricational characteristics with addition of Zn-DTP in the Falex friction and wear test machine that is used engine oil in order to increase the lubricational characteristics. The result is as follows, adding the Zn-DTP to automobile engine oil, anti-wear property superiority of extreme pressure property, and temperature characteristic is excellent, so use of additives must be considered.
