본고는 서사 텍스트에서 정신 - 육체 - 언어의 세 심급을 각각 분리하지 않고 상호 관계를 중시하면서 해석하기 위한 시론(試論)이다. `삼선 의학 (psychosomatic medicine) `은 “정신과 신체(mind and body) 혹은 양자 간의 상호작용을 다루는 학문”으로 본고의 이론적 참조점이 된다. 이 논문의 서사 분석 방법론은 주로 삼신 의학의 삼신 이론과 전인론적 모델(holistic model)을 주요한 근거로 삼고 정신분석학과 의료문학 몸 담론을 종합적으로 참조한다. 동서양 심신 의학의 문화사를 탐색하면서, 심신과 언어, 심신과 서사 간의 중요한 관련성을 검토한다. 한국에서 1960년대는 문화적 현대성 혹은 일상적 현대성이 (재)구조화되던 시기이다. 1950년대의 한국인들은 한국전쟁으로 인해 심신의 고통을 겪었던 것에 비해, 60년대에는 현대 사회 · 문화의 복합적인 병리성에 의해 심신 의학적 증상이 발병하기 시작한 때이며, `스트레스`라는 용어가 널리 소개되기 시작한 시기이다. 구체적으로 서정인의 「후송」 (1962) 에 나타난 귀울림, 김승옥의 「차나」한잔 (1964) 에 나타난 배앓이를 중심으로 1960년대의 한국 소설들에서 나타나기 시작한 남성 주체들의 삼신 의학적 질병 모티프 들을 논의한다

This article is an experimental study that focuses on relationship among mind, bed, and language in narrative text. Psychosomatic medicine is a medical science that studies `mind and body` or `interaction` of mind and body. As psychoanalytic criticism is based on theories and practices and of psychoanalysis, critical method of this study is based on theories and practices and of psychosomatic medicine. This study explores eastern and western cultural history of psychosomatic medicine, and investigates the importance of relationship between mind-body connection and narrative. South Korea in the 1960`s was a period that (re)structured the cultural modernity or modernity in everyday life. In 1950`s, Koreans suffered mental and physical pain directly, because of Korean War. Whereas in 1960`s, psychosomatic illnesses appeared and the term `stress` was widely known in this period, because of complex problems of modern society and culture. This article analyzes psychosomatic illnesses motif in 1960`s Korean short stories, including the tinnitus in Soe Joeng in`s “evacuation” and the stomach ulcer in Kim Seung-ok`s “how about a cup of tea”.
