본 연구는 청소년이 지각한 부모공감, 자기개념, 배척민감성이 학교적응에 미치는 영향을 경험적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 경기도의 남·녀중학생 617명을 대상으로 부모공감척도, 자기개념척도, 배척민감성척도, 학교적응척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였고, 연구가설을 검증하기 위하여 구조방정식 모형을 이용하였다. 그 결과 청소년이 지각한 부모공감과 학교적응과의 관계에서 자기개념은 유의한 수준에서 완전매개하였고, 청소년이 지각한 부모공감과 학교적응과의 관계에서 배척민감성은 자기개념을 통하여 부적으로 부분매개하였다. 그리고, 부모공감과 학교적응 사이에서 배척민감성은 남녀 간의 유의한 성차가 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 논의와 의의, 제한점과 후속연구에 대한 제언을 다루었다.

This study is to verify the influence of parental empathy, self-concept, and rejection sensitivity perceived by Middle School Students(adolescents) on school adjustment. To get meaningful results of this study, research questions were established by using the followings: parental empathy scale, self-concept scale, rejection sensitivity scale, and school adjustment scale. Research questions of 617 students were used to get meaningful results. The conclusions of this study are summarized as followings. First, observing the mediating effects of rejection sensitivity and self-concept in the context of the effect on adolescents`school adjustment directed by parental empathy, self-concept completely mediated the relation between parental empathy and school adjustment. Second, meaningful gender-difference among male and female students could be found in the result of t-test to identify gender-difference of rejection sensitivity between parental empathy and school adjustment. Third, from the view of self-concept, rejection sensitivity has a negative correlation between parental empathy and school adjustment. That is, the results of this study show that parental empathy in the medium of self-concept effects on school adjustment indirectly rather than on it directly. And some limitations and further study on the subject are left as well.
