이 연구의 목적은 브라질 한인의 이주역사와 코리아타운의 형성, 에스닉 산업의 전개, 지리적 특성, 민족계승 등을 고찰하는데 있다. 연구방법은 2016년 2월 브라질 현지조사에서 수집한 자료와 면담조사를 활용하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 브라질 한인의 이주역사는 1945년 해방 전후 일본으로부터 조선인의 이민, 최근 2000년대 한국으로부터 뉴커머 진출로 이어지고 있었다. 둘째, 봉헤찌로 코리아타운의 지리적 특성은 한인식당가와 패션의류타운으로 구분되어 있었다. 셋째, 브라질 한인의 에스닉 산업은 서비스업이 가장 높고, 문화오락산업, 식당업, 의류관련업, 도소매업 순이었다. 넷째, 브라질 한인의 공동체적 특성은 교회를 중심으로 구성되어 있으며 교회는 종교적인 신념보다는 상호 친목과 교류를 중시하는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 코리아타운에서 민족계승은 인종간과 업종간의 에스닉 승계가 이루어지고 있었다. 결론적으로 현재 코리아타운을 중심으로 한 브라질 한인사회는 이민차세대의 정체성, 한인간 업종간 이민생태계 구축, 현지화를 고려한 동포정책과 정책적 지원 등이 향후 코리아타운의 존재양상을 가를 것으로 생각된다.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the formation of the migration history of Brazil Korean and Korea-town, development of the ethnic industry, and geographical property and ethnic succession. The main method was to use collected data and interview conducted in Brazil within field research carried out February, 2016. A key five findings are given below. First, the migration history of Brazil Korean started from immigrants from the Japan postwar since 1945 and continued with new-comers from Korea after 2000. Second, the geographical property of the Korea-town was partitioned between Korean restaurants and fashion clothes town by the BOM RETIRO. The third findings was that the ethnic industry of Brazil Korean included the service industry, cultural amusement industry, restaurant business, clothes relevant business, wholesale and retail business order. Forth it was found that the ethnic succession of the Korea-town was being realized between the human race and ethnic industries in Brazil. It is concluded that the Korean society of the Korea-town is considered afterward to choose between existing of next generation, immigration ecosystem construction, Overseas-Korean policy and political support etc.
