본 글은 네스틀레-알란트 헬라어 신약 성경 28판(NA28)의 공동 서신의 읽기본문의 변경 사항에 대한 연구이다. NA28 서문에는 공동 서신 부분에 새로운 본문 비평 방법론인 “일관성에 근거한 계보적 방법론”(the Coherence-Based Genealogical Method[CBGM])이 적용된 Editio Critica Maior 2판(ECM2)의 본문이 NA28에 사용되어 NA27의 읽기 본문과 자구(字句)적으로 34군데의 본문변경이 발생했다고 언급되어 있다. 무엇보다 자구적 변경은 본문의 변경을 뜻하기에 중요한 요소이다. 그러나 본문의 이해와 번역에 영향을 주는 것은 단지 자구만이 아니라 읽기 본문에 포함된 여러 요소들(예. 문단 나누기, 구두점, 비평 기호 등)을 고려할 때, 추가적인 변경 사항을 살펴볼 필요가 있었다. 이 점을 살펴보기 위해 필자는 NA27과 NA28의 읽기 본문을 비교 분석하였고, 다음의 결과를 얻었다: (1) 읽기 본문은 이미 언급된 34개의 자구적변경을 포함해 총 76개가 변경되었다(삽입 6, 삭제 29, 변경 41). (2) 비평 기호는 총 256개가 변경되었다(삽입 60, 삭제 77, 변경 119). (3) 구두점은 총 127개가 변경되었다(삽입 48, 삭제 49, 변경 30). 이러한 변경과 관련해 필자는 위의 사항들은 연구자들이 NA28을 단지 NA27의 개정판 정도로 판단해 무비판적으로 사용해서는 안 된다는 점을 지시한다고 주의를 환기시켰다. 또한 필자는 이 변경들 중 성경 이해와 관련하여 유의미한 것들과 그렇지 않은 것들이 있다고 확신하며, 이는 성경 해석자와 번역자에게 추가적인 작업을 요구한다고 지적했다.

This article aims to study textual (and other) changes found in the reading text of the General Letters of Nestle-Aland, Novum Testamentum Graece, 28< sup >th< /sup > Edition(NA28) from the 27< sup >th< /sup > Edition(NA27). The introduction of NA28 mentions that thirty four textual changes happen in NA28 from NA27 because the reading text of Editio Critica Maior, 2< sup >nd< /sup > Edition(ECM2), which accepts a new method of the textual criticism, the Coherence-Based Genealogical Method(CBGM), was applied to the part of the General Letters of NA28. The textual changes, above all, are important because they indicates the text of Greek New Testament changed. Nevertheless, considering that other factors, such as paragraphing, punctuations and textual critical signs, may influence on the understanding and/or translation of a text, I feel to need to analyse NA28 along to NA27. The analysis resulted in the following: (1) seventy six textual changes in the reading text, including thirty four literal changes mentioned in the introduction of NA28(addition: 6; deletion: 29; change: 41). (2) two hundreds fifty six changes in the textual critical sign(addition: 60; deletion: 77; change: 119). And (3) a hundred twenty seven changes in the punctuation( addition: 48; deletion:49; change: 30). Based on this analysis, I advised researcher(s) of NA28 not to uncritically use NA28 considering NA28 to be a revised edition of NA27. In addition, I suggested that the interpreter(s) and/or translator(s) should carefully and critically use NA28 because the above-mentioned changes could be meaningful and/or meaningless in their works.
