This study focused on the Daesan port expansion and early completion to cope with surrounding regional economy environment. In recent years, the role of the Daesan port has been increasingly important as one of the major export ports in the western coast. And it is also important as the gate port to meet the increasing demand of China in logistic fields. Accordingly, it is the proper time to emphasis on the Daesan port expansion and early completion, otherwise it will be completed in 2011. Nowadays, the Daesan port cannot meet the facilities to support with in-and-out products in the surrounding industrial complexes. In addition, the number of industrial complexes and products has been sharply increasing due to the movement of many factories from metropolitan areas, etc. Under the circumstances, the amount of products utilizing the Daesan port including near areas such Boryoung, Taeahn, etc., should be estimated in the various proper models. Also, the capacity of facility and the status of the port are briefly mentioned And, the relevant superior laws and Daesan expansion plan are reviewed. The strategy of Daesan port expansion facility is developed. Finally, the various suggestions are submitted based on the estimated prediction. It is concluded that the estimation of conservative and liberal prediction of the outputs be presented within various schemes. From this prediction, it is urgent to seriously consider the expansion and early completion of the Daesan port to meet the surrounding regional economy environment.
