한국의 인성교육의 전망과 해법, 대안이라는 큰 틀에서 김춘추 일가의 희생과 헌신을 조망하였다. 과거는 현재를 비추는 거울에 다름 아니다. 현재 한국에선 인성 교육이 행해지고 있으나 법안의 제정 과정, 추구하는 인성의 덕목, 교육 현장 실상과의 괴리 등 적잖은 문제점이 있다. 일례로 기존 교원을 인성교육의 주체로 삼아 공교육 현장에서 인성교육을 구현하겠다는 기본 구상에는 여러 선결 과제들이 놓여 있다. 사회와 교실이 불가분의 관계이며 교육은 양자 사이를 흘러가는 물과 같다는 점에서, 인성 교육을 공교육 현장에만 국한시킨 대목 역시 맹점을 지니고 있다. 인성 교육의 객체에 해당하는 학생들 또한 급변하는 제반 환경에 노출된 결과 ‘교육의 과정’이 아니라 치유의 과정``(healing process)이 필요하다. 한국의 불안한 status quo를 타파하고 바람직한 인성을 정립하려면, 지도층의 솔선수범과 희생, 헌신이 요구된다. ‘上行下效’없이는 총체적 난국을 종식하기 어렵다. 이런 맥락에서 김춘추를 비롯한 일가의 희생과 헌신은 함의하는 바 크다. 김춘추는 자식들을 불행의 수렁으로 몰아넣으면서 전면적인 사회 기풍 혁신의 해법을 찾았다. 그 결과 김춘추 일가뿐만 아니라, 반굴, 관창, 구진천 등 전 계층이 구국의 대열에 나섰고, 신라는 오랜 분열의 시대를 마감할수 있었다. 까닭에 엄한 도덕의 잣대가 지도층에게 요망되며, 이의 현실적 실천이 살아있는 인성교육이라 믿어진다.
