This paper aims to compare Korean and Myanmar idiomatic expressions and in this way help Myanmar students to achieve more effective results while learning Korean language. It focuses on idiomatic expressions related to the face portion, which often appear in speech and written forms. This paper shows that the concept of Korean and Myanmar idiomatic expressions is similar to each other which reveals the third meaning of two lexical words, then it reflects not only culture but history as well. Moreover, this paper finds out that the differences are usages and functions of Korean and Myanmar idiomatic expressions. It may help Myanmar students to learn Korean language and understand better its idiomatic expressions, which is an intention of the author of this paper.
