Potato tuber moth, Phthorimaea operculella (Zeller) is considered as the most damaging potato pest in field as well as storage because larvae mine both foliage and tubers. Considerable loss has been caused if the control measures are not appropriate. Potato Tuber Moth has spread to almost all tropical and subtropical potato production regions from its origin of South America. This paper review the host range, distribution and other ecological parameters such as life table study and population phenology, to figure out the knowledge gaps in research and implementation with special emphasis on Nepal and Korea.
