Fixed drug eruption (FDE) is a cutaneous reaction characterized by one or more circumscribed lesions that recur at the same site in response to a given medication. Itraconazole is widely used antifungal agent and cutaneous adverse reaction to this drug is extremely rare. A 60-year-old woman presented with multiple vesicles, bullae on relatively well-demarcated erythematous swollen patches on both forearms. She had been treated for candidial vaginitis with oral itraconazole for two days. She had experienced similar episodes after administration of antifungal agent. The skin biopsy specimen taken from her skin showed vacuolar degeneration of the basal cell layer in epidermis and marked papillary dermal edema, perivascular/interstitial inflammatory cell infiltration in dermis. Herein, we report a case of bullous fixed drug eruption caused by itraconazole.
