Molluscum contagiosum(MC) is a viral infection that causes multiple flesh colored papules on the skin and mucous membrane. MC is caused by poxvirus affecting children, sexually active adults, and immunocompromised individuals. Children frequently develop MC lesions on the trunk, arms, and face. The nipple or areola is the site of some dermatoses, the commonest cause being Paget``s disease. Other cause are nevoid areolar hyperkeratosis, several skin neoplasm and also including infectious ones, such as warts. MC lesions in this uncommon localization can be confused with each of these diseases. We are presenting the case of a 3-year-old girl with a solitary flesh-colored papule on her right areola for almost a year without marked size variation. The lesion was neither pruritic nor painful. Clinically we suspected nevoid hyperkeratosis of areola and did punch to confirm. Histologically showed multiple molluscum bodies and we could make diagnosis of MC. This case is very rare as the isolated nipple or areola is an unusual site of presentation for MC. Herein, we report a rare case of solitary MC on the areola.
