Gerontolinguistics is a new research area of linguistics; therefore, it is not yet settled academically. Gerontolinguistics has established five main areas so far. These five areas of Gerontolinguistics should be researched further, but at the same time, their theoretical framework should also be constructed. This research paper will clarify my idea of Gerontolinguistics from the viewpoints of micro- and macrocommunication. 2) Moreover, the possibilities of applying Gerontolinguistics to care communication.3) will be presented, and the need of applying it to providing care for older people will be explained.
