The health communication skill is the physician`s core clinical skill for diagnosis and management of patients. But, most health communication concentrates on the gathering data, and many practicing physicians have little skill about responding patients` emotions and about educating or motivating patients. In order to become proficient at the varying task of interviewing, physician must be able to 1) collect accurate information in an efficient manner, 2) demonstrate sufficient emotional support so as to relieve acute distress and facilitate the development of trust, 3) educate patient about the illness and encourage adherence to treatment recommandations.
