C-spine CT scan is usually taken when hanging patients visit to ER. but incidence of c-spine fracture or other abnormal finding is unclear. the aim of this study was to review patient characteristics and analyze the c-spine image in patients who have near-hanging injuries. A single center, retrospective, registry-based study was performed using data from 2011-2015. we evaluated hanging patients who take a c-spine CT scan or c-spine x-ray image. 114 patients with near-hanging were enrolled in this study from the aforementioned 5-year period with an average age of 56.5±6.7. Incomplete hanging were 64.2%. 71 patients performed C-spine CT scan and 114 patients had taken a x-ray of C-spine lat. There was no one has a definite fracture in cspine except 5 cases of soft tissue injuries on neck. There was no one with hangman fracture or any c-spine fracture in this study. but 5 cases had soft tissue injuries. therefore we suggested the neck CT examination rather than C-spine CT.
