본 연구는 기업의 연구개발투자활동과 기업가치의 관련성을 검증하였다. 연구개발투자활동 측정치의 측정오차를 줄이고자 재무제표에 보고된 값을 이용하는 대신 한국산업기술진흥원에서 제공하는 연구개발투자순위를 이용하였다. 2008년부터 2014년까지 6,480개(기업/년)의 표본을 이용해 실증 분석한 결과, 연구개발투 자순위가 높을수록 기업가치가 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 시장이 기업의 연구개발투자활동을 수익성을 낮추는 비용으로 인식하는 것이 아니라 미래 경제적 가치를 높일 수 투자로 인식하고 있다는 것을 제시한 결과이다. 본 연구는 기업의 연구개발투자활동이 기업가치에 미치는 영향을 실증 분석함으로써 미래경제적 가치를 창출할 수 있는 연구개발투자의 중요성을 강조하였다는 점에서 학술적 증거를 제시하였다. 또한 연구개발투자활동의 측정치로서 보다 객관적인 외부기관의 평가결과를 이용해 일반화 가능성을 높였다는 점에서 시사점이 있다.

In this study, it was verified the relevance of research and development(R&D) activities and firm value. Instead of using reported value in the financial statements that want to reduce the measurement error of R&D investment activity measurements, we were using a R&D investment ranking to be provided by the Korean Industrial Technology Development Institute. Using 480 samples(corporate/year) from 2008 to 2014, as a result of the empirical test, it was found that a significantly higher ranking of R&D investment, higher firm value. These results, market it is possible to increase the future economic value rather than recognized as and expense of reducing advantage of the investment in R&D activities of the firm, it is the results presented that it is recognized as an investment. In this study, by R&D investment activities of companies to demonstrate analysis of the impact on firm value, in that they emphasized the importance of R&D investment that can create an economic value in the future, academic evidence I presented. Also, as a measure of R&D investment activities, and in that by using the evaluation results of more objective external organizations, that presented a possibility that can improve the generalizability of the results of the existing previous studies there is suggested in point.
