본 연구는 부모의 과잉간섭이 초등학생의 휴대전화 의존에 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고, 사회적 위축과 우울이 이들 관계를 매개하는지를 확인하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원의 한국아동·청소년패널조사(KCYPS)의 초1패널 제4차년도 자료를 사용하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 과잉간섭은 초등학생의 휴대전화 의존에 유의미한 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적 위축은 부모의 과잉간섭이 초등학생의 휴대전화 의존에 미치는 효과를 매개하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 우울은 부모의 과잉간섭이 휴대전화 의존에 미치는 효과를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 사회적위축은 단독으로 매개하지 못하나 우울과 함께 과잉간섭과 휴대전화 의존 간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 부모의 과잉간섭이 초등학생의 휴대전화 의존과 사회적 위축 및 우울을 증가시키므로 부모의 바람직한 양육태도를 위한 실효성 있는 부모교육 프로그램의 필요성과 초등학생의 휴대전화 의존을 예방하기 위한 개입 및 후속연구에 대한 제언을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of parental over-intrusiveness on elementary school students`` mobile phone dependency. In this process, the relationship between parental over-intrusiveness and mobile phone dependency of elementary school students were linked with social withdrawal and depression. For the current study, this study used data from the fourth wave of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). The results of this study were as follows: First, parental over-intrusiveness has direct influences on mobile phone dependency of elementary school students. Second, social withdrawal is not linked with effects on the relationship between parental over-intrusiveness and elementary school students’ mobile phone dependency. Thirdly, depression is linked with effects on the relationship between parental over-intrusiveness and mobile phone dependency of elementary school students. Finally, not independently, social withdrawal and depression together are linked with effects on the relationship between parental over-intrusiveness and mobile phone dependency of elementary school students. These results show that parental over-intrusiveness increased the degree of mobile phone dependency, and social withdrawal and depression. It reveals the importance of proper parental care and suitable intrusiveness. This further suggests that there is a need for counselling and a follow-up study in other areas connected with these issues.
