Our study attempted to provide with helpful suggestions to set up the common curricula of the biology teacher training institutes. In particular, the emphasis was given to explore the major courses of the curricula. The analysis of six high school biology textbooks shows that they consist of the subjects such as $quot;Physiology,$quot; $quot;Genetics,$quot; $quot;Taxonomy,$quot; $quot;Cell Biology,$quot; $quot;Biochemistry,$quot; $quot;Embryology,$quot; $quot;Histology,$quot; $quot;Behavioral Science$quot; in the order of quantity and importance, We also asked biology teachers to select ten required and elective courses they thought to be important. Then, the courses were statistically analyzed in terms of frequency and importance. Although the teachers agreed with each other about the major university curricula and courses, but the priority numbers of their choice were different. The most mentioned are $quot;Cell Biology,$quot; $quot;Genetics,$quot; $quot;Animal Physiology,$quot; $quot;Plant Physiology,$quot; and $quot;General Biology.$quot; Thus, we recommend that these courses be included in the major courses of the biology teacher training institutes,
