The purpose of this study is to provide the theoretical explanation how the teaching had been improved so greatly among teachers in the EBS(Educational Broadcasting System in Korea) documentary program, "My Teacher Has Been Changed : 선생님이 달라졌어요." The EBS TV broadcasted 12 cases of teachers? teachings progress through the instructional coaching program in 2010-2011. The coaching program took place almost 8 months. There were 9 different professionals from different fields (psychologists, school teachers, school principals, professors, etc.) involved and they assisted to find solutions for teachers who had been struggling with serious difficulties in teaching. This TV program, then, gained a lot of attention among many school teachers and was used as a good resource how the teachers? teaching could be changed effectively for students. The overall solution given for teachers was to improve the relationship between students and teachers first rather than focus on the content teaching. The program showed the coaching conclusion mostly based on opinions and advices from the professionals. It, however, did not provide a deeper background explanation for why the good relationship should be considered first over the content teaching skills. This study, therefore, attempts to provide the theoretical background of this educational phenomenon for teachers to understand the essential point, but not just to know what to do.
