A Cpmparative Analysis on the Latent Delinqency between Tae Kwon Do Players and Non-Players of High School

The purpose of this researeh was to investigate the common delinquencies commiled by Taekwondo players and non-players of high school and to provide basis data in support. The subjects were 800 students : Including 184 taekwondo players at athletic high school(129 boys,55 girls), 211 non-players at high schools(152 boys, 59 girls) in Seoul. 195 taekwondo players at athletic high schools(154 boys, 41 girls), 210 non-players at high schools(l50 boys, 60 girls)in Incheon. They were compared and analysed. in aspects of sex, father`` s jobs and education, amount of pocket money, careers as a player, and winning prizes. They were also compared and analysed in the aspect of violations of public rules, properties, status, personal relationship, and seclusion according to the type of delinquency. Data was collected through questionnaires and self-administration method and analysed according to one-way ANOVA The conclusions were as follows: 1. The level of delinquency depended on mediate variables. 1) Male students showed a higher frequency of delinquency in public rules, status, seclusion, properties, and personal relationship. 2) The higher the father``s job the greater the frequency of delinquency Professional work, administrative work, sales, sales, etc, blue color, clerical work in sequence. 3) Father``s education had no effect on delinquency. 4) Statistics showed. that the more pocket money, the higher the frequency of delinquency.(according to the following order: over 160.000 won, less 160.000 won ~ over 120.000 won, less 120.000 won ~ over 80.000 won, over 40.000 won -less 80.000 won, less 40.000 won). 2. The level of delinquency depending on taekwondo players and non-players showed made no difference. 1) Public rules between taekwondo players and non-players showed taekwondo players had a higher frequency of delinquency than non-players. 2) Property hetween taekwondo players and non-players showed made no difference. 3) Status between taekwondo players and non-pLayers showed made no difference. 4) The personal relationship between taekwondo players and non-players showed made no difference. 5) Seclusion between taekwondo pLayers and non-players showed non-players had a higher frequency of delinquency than taekwondo players. 3. Careers as a taekwondo player made no difference. 4. Careers of winning prizes as a taekwondo player had no effect on public rules, property, personal relationship, and seclusion except for status.
