본 연구는 아토피 영유아와 생활하는 교사의 어려움과 대응방안 및 지원요구를 알아봄으로써 아토피 영유아를 지도하는 데 어려움을 겪고 있는 교사에게 도움을 줄 수 있는 자료를 제공하고 이들을 지원할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자, 유아교사 10명을 연구 참여자로 하여 심층면담을 통한 질적 분석이 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 교사가 일과운영을 하는 과정에서 겪는 어려움으로는 아토피 영유아의 성격적인 특성과 성향에 따른 문제 상황, 예측하기 힘든 아토피 증상, 인력의 부족, 환경적 요인에 따른 반응, 음식물 섭취관리 등에 어려움을 느끼고 있었으나 교사 스스로 아토피전문가가 되는 과정, 세밀한 관찰 및 도움, 환경관리, 아토피 자녀의 부모와의 협력, 교사의 아이디어, 아토피 영유아를 위한 교육프로그램 등의 노력을 통해 극복해나가고 있었다. 그리고 아토피 영유아의 부모를 대하는 과정에서 겪는 어려움을, 까다로운 관리요구에 교사가 더 까다로운 전문가 되기, 가정의 비협조의 어려움을 협조를 이끌어 내는 협상가 되기, 뾰족한 부모의 반응에 온화한 성인군자 되기로 대응하고 있었다. 그리고 아토피 영유아와 생활하는 교사는 아토피에 대한 정보의 부재로 인해 자료 제공이나 연수를 요구하였고 전문 인력, 보조 인력, 자연친화적인 환경의 지원, 아토피 자녀를 둔 부모를 위한 교육, 아토피 영유아와 그들의 부모를 위한 정서적 지지에 대한 지원을 필요로 하였다.
This study aimed to analyze the difficulties and support needs of teachers with the children of atopic skin and to provide the helpful guidance. 10 teachers participated in the in-depth interviews for qualitative analysis. This research was carried out for 8 weeks. In-depth interview, telephone interview, and internet interview were performed and for in?depth interview both ‘unstructured’ and ‘semi-structured’ interview methods were used. Based on the results, the teachers` difficulties in the process of curriculum operation were: problem situations happened by children`s personality and traits; unexpected atopic symptoms; responses to environmental factors; and food taking guide. They cope with difficulties though: being atopic professionals themselves; detailed observation and help; environment management; cooperation with parents; teachers` idea; and implementation of educational programmes for atopic children. When to face demanding parents with atopic children, the teachers became more demanding professionals; became negotiators to lead parents` cooperation who were un-cooperative parents; and became mild and mature reactor to picky parents. The teachers being with atopic children needed information and training programmes about atopy because of lack of information; helping and professional staff; eco-friendly environmental support; parents education with atopic children; and emotional support for parents.
