Papillary eccrine adenoma is a rare disease in dermis which presents as small, solitary nodule in extremities, especially in black women. In pathologic view, papillary eccrine adenoma is similar to tubular apocrine adenoma but its tubular structure consists of eccrine gland instead of apocrine gland. It also shows papillary projections toward the lumina. A 23-year-old female patient presented with hard subcutaneous nodule on right heel, which appeared 3 years prior to the visit. Under the initial impression of callus, soft tissue sonography was performed to examine the lesion. The result was nonspecific soft tissue tumor and no specific diagnosis could be made. Under the final impression of epidermal cyst, excision of the lesion was performed. The initial pathologist report was consistent with tubular adenoma. To further evaluate the tubular structure, S-100 and CEA stain was performed. Both stain results were positive, indicating eccrine gland proliferation within the tumor. Therefore the mass was finally diagnosed as papillary eccrine adenoma of right heel. Papillary eccrine adenoma was reported a few times in Korea. However, no Korean report of this tumor on heel could be found. Herein we report a rare case of papillary eccrine adenoma arising on heel.
