This study is mainly about the history of the catholic mixed-choral music in diocese of Pusan, having attention the periods before and after the diocese of Pusan’ foundation. ‘Pusan Catholic Choir’ is the first mixed-choir established in 1957, followed by the second one ‘Agnus Choir’ which founded in 1962. ‘Seong-mo Choir’ is another outstanding association which was derived from the first choir. This study also focused on the musicians who were leading early choral music in diocese of Pusan including Lee. Andrew the first conductor, Kim Sung-Bae and Park Hun-Il and their activities. This study indicates two points of dispute showing up during the transcription work on the history of ‘Pusan Catholic Choir’ -the present choir established 1982- to find its root. Firstly, the archival culture and its process have being done by rule of thumb. Secondly, there was not a single proper record of the ‘history of a parish church’s choir even though it is the most fundamental data to figure out each parish church’s activities. It’s nearly 60th anniversary of Diocese of Pusan’s foundation, lasting more than half century. It would be very terrific thing if this study makes use as basic source of the writing, which will be written by someone, some time or other.
