이 글을 통해 우리는, ``아시아적 신체``라는 양석일의 생각을 토대로 하여, 그의 장편소설 『어둠의 아이들』이 창작되었음을 확인해 보았다. 양석일 소설은 1세대의 문제의식에서 3세대까지를 모두 포괄하고 있다. 자이니치 문학 1세대의 관념적인 민족성을 넘어 현실적인 자이니치의 진짜 삶의 문제를 다루고 있다. 그의 작품에는 식민지적 분노나, 조국통일 같은 이념보다는 자이니치들의 구체적인 삶이 그려져 있다. 양석일의 『어둠의 아이들』 『다시 오는 봄』은 ``아시아적 신체``라는 담론에서 성폭력이라는 국제적 문제점을 방대하고도 핍진한 역사적 증언을 담아, 이제까지 자이니치 문학사의 테두리와 일본어 문학의 경계를 확장시켰다. 양석일 문학의 특징은 첫째, 강렬한 메시지다. 그 중심에는 ``아시아적 신체``와``어둠의 상상력``이라는 사상이 자리하고 있다. 둘째로 세밀하고 정확한 인물 형상화 방법이다. 철저한 사실주의적 기법을 사용하는 솔제니친 같은 리얼리즘의 계보를 잇는 작가다. 셋째로 그는 ``어둠의 세계``로 향하면서 파격적인 소재를 택한다. 그로 인해 양석일 후기의 소설은 문체보다도 이야기에 주목하게 된다. 강렬한 메시지, 세밀하고 정확한 형상화, 파격적인 소재를 담은 양석일 소설은 거침없이 흐르는 강물처럼, 어둠의 골목 구석구석으로 독자를 안내하며 반성적 고찰과 다짐을 이끌어낸다.

This study aims to inquire into YANG Seok-il``s novel world in the thinking of ``Asian Body``. Yang Sok-il(or Yang Sokil, Yang Sogil, Yang Seok-il, born 13 August 1936) is a writer in Japanese of Korean(=Zianichi Korean, 在日韓國人) nationality. Yang first supported himself via various odd jobs, an experience that led to books based on the experience of taxi driving published in the 1980s and filmed as All Under the Moon(月はどっちに出ている). A large number of books followed. His novel, ``Children of the dark(闇の子供たち)`` is based on the thinking of ``Asian Body``. Children of the Dark is about child prostitution and organ sales in Thailand. In the darkest corners of Thailand, child prostitution and organ sales flourish. Many children are murdered to provide organs for the people desperate enough to pay to save their own children. In order to save a child``s life, another life must be taken. An outraged Japanese journalist and a passionate young Japanese NGO member attempt to save ``children of the dark``. When a Japanese journalist teams up with a Japanese NGO member to expose this practice and try to put an end to this systematic abuse of children they``re struck with the sobering reality that the problem may just be too widespread for two people to stop.
