이 논문은 일본의 쇼우카 ‘고향(ふるさと)’의 성립과 변천에 입각하여 이 노래의 현대적인 양상을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2011년 3월 11일에 발생한 동일본대지진 이후로, 일본에서 쇼우카 ‘고향``이 국민적인 애창가로 새롭게 주목받고 있다. 세대를 초월해 부를 수 있는 몇 안 되는 노래로서, 다양한 상황에서 불리는 경우가 많아졌다. 본 원고에서는 구체적으로는 다음의 4가지 점에 대해서 고찰하려 한다. 첫째로, 국내외에서 불려지는 ‘고향’, 둘째로, 학교교육에서의 ‘고향’, 셋째로, 한일교류에서의 ‘고향, 넷째로, 동일본대지진 이후의 ‘고향’에 관하여 다루고자 한다. 이러한 4가지 시점은 ‘예술교육의 사회적 역할’이라는 2014년 5월 17일에 서울대학교에서 개최된 국제학회의 테마를 염두에 두고 설정한 것이다.

The purpose of the paper is to clarify present aspects of “Furusato”(My Country Home), a Japanese School Song, based on the formation and transition of the song. Since Great East Japan Earthquake on 11th March, 2011, “Furusato” has newly emerged as a national favorite song in Japan. As only a few song that transcends generations, it has often been sung in a variety of situations. This paper considers specifically the following four points of country home: firstly, sung at home and abroad, secondly, in school education, thirdly, in Korea-Japan exchanges, and fourthly, after Great East Japan Earthquake. The four viewpoints are approached with a theme in the international conference, “Social Roles of Art Education”in mind, hold in Seoul National University on 17th May, 2014.
