이 논문은 신상옥 감독의 <상록수>(1961)를 문화정치의 시각에서 분석하고자 한다. <상록수>는 심훈의 소설 『상록수』(1935)를 영화화한 작품이다. 두 작품의 공통점은 소설과 영화 모두 민족을 근간으로 하고 있다는 점이다. 『상록수』에 나타난 민족은 일제로부터 독립을 하기 위한 저항과 연대의 민족으로 해석될 수 있다. 반면 <상록수>는 4 19를 통해 파생된 민족을 국가의 틀을 세우고, 지배 권력의 헤게모니 장악을 위한 기본정신으로 전유하고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 <상록수>와 당대 큰 파급력을 가진 대중 매체인 신문의 내용 분석을 통해 <상록수>에 투영된 정치적 목적성을 고찰하고자 한다. 이를 통해 계몽영화로서 <상록수>에 투영된 정치적 목적과 의미가 규명될 것을 기대한다.

I try to analyze (1961)-Directed by Sin Sang Ok-from the sight of Cultural politics in this dissertation. A Movie edition of is originated from a novel written by Sim Hoon. One thing in common between the novel and movie is that they are based on our nation. It can be interpreted as a nation of resistance and solidarity to fight for independence from Japanese colonial era. Considering their position, Ruling hierarchy, however, transformed the concept of nation which had formed in 4 19 revolution. So, I am going to consider the political object reflected in , analysing newspaper which had a great power at that time. I expect the political purpose and meaning in to be investigated as an enlightenment movie.
