본 연구는 『백용성 대종사 총서』 발간 및 전산화를 위한 연구의 제2차 년도 사업이다. 『백용성 대종사 총서』 한국 근대불교의 고승인 백용성 대종사의 모든 자료를 조사 수집하고 번역하여 총서로 출간하는 것이다. 그리고 향후 데이터베이스로 구축하여 웹서비스를 시행하는 것으로 목표를 삼고자 한다. 본 연구를 통하여 『백용성 대종사 총서』가 발간되고 더 나아가 전산화를 통한 웹서비스를 시행하기 위한 제2차년도 사업의 결과의 보고서이다. 향후 총서의 발간과 전산화 사업은 교계의 스님과 연구자 및 전 국민과 불자들이 총서와 인터넷을 통하여 검색할 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 그 파급효과로서 관련 연구의 활성화를 기할 수 있을 것이며, 백용성 대종사의 자료를 영구 보존할 수 있고, 이에 백용성대종사의 사상을 계승하고 현창 할 수 있을 것이다. 백용성 대종사의 자료가 콘텐츠의 소재로 활용할 수 있도록 하고 백용성 대종사가 근대의 고승이면서 문화창달의 주역임을 입증케 할 수 있는 사업이 될 것이다.
