This study is to investigate the concept of World English and the goals of CCDL project, and especially to analyze the data from the Namseoul-Waseda CCDL Project(NWCCDLP). The main purposes of this study are: the first is to identify the concept of World English, the second is to analyze the data from NWCCDLP, and the third is to suggest ways to utilize CCDLP as a tool for cultivating English competence for foreign learners. NWCCDLP consisted of two parts: one is the voice and text chatting system between Namseoul and Waseda University students and the other is the video conferencing lecture on the theme of "World Englishes and Miscommunications." The data was collected through the questionnaire from the students, and the results from the data analysis proved that NWCCDLP was very helpful in cultivating English proficiency for foreign learners and in understanding World English. In the near future. it will need more research on CCDL project and the potentiality of understanding World English through CCDL.
