The aim of this study is in selecting basic technical words required in order to prevent the academic failure of foreign students in undergraduate (graduate) schools and to promote the development of their technical scholastic aptitude. Furthermore, it is intended to illuminate the linguistic property of technical words by analyzing the selected list and to demonstrate the indication of Korean language education to the instruction and study of technical words. The basic words of business administration are defined as ``high frequency vocabularies applied in various areas of the major,`` and 555 nouns were selected according to the frequency and the range from the corpus constructed with business administration textbooks on a scale of 486,543 words. And requested to majors in business administration, the nouns are classified of importance into grade A and grade B. Through the analysis of the selected nouns, the importance and efficiency of studying the basic lexicon in understanding the major textbooks have been confirmed. Also, compound terms and collocations of high-frequency are presented through extracting co-occurrence information of nouns from the corpus. The vocabulary selection and analysis of this study as such will provide facilitative basic data valuable not only for the instruction and study of technical words but for the publication, dictionary compilation, and development of teaching materials of a major lexicon.
