본 연구는 2001년부터 2010년까지 학술지 논문을 중심으로 우리나라 가출청소년 관련 논문을 내용분석법으로 분석하여 연구동향을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국교육학술정보원과 한국학술정보의 검색사이트에서 학술지 논문을 검색하여 총 43개 학술지의 98개 논문을 대상으로 하였다. 내용분석법에 따라 연구내용, 연구대상자, 연구방법 분석틀을 개발하였고 그 분석틀에 따라 연구대상 논문들을 분석하였다. 연구내용 분석틀은 4개 영역, 10개 유형으로 개발되었고, 연구대상자 분석틀은 7개 유형, 연구방법 분석틀은 6개 유형으로 개발되었다. 본 연구 결과를 보면, 지난 10년간 논문에서 연구내용은 개입 영역 37.8%, 원인 영역 29.1%, 문제 영역26.0%, 기타 7.1% 순으로 나타났다. 연구내용을 세부적으로 살펴보면, 가출 및 재가출의 원인, 프로그램 개발 및 평가, 정서문제 및 정신건강, 시설 운영 및 평가 순으로 연구가 이뤄졌고, 연구대상자는 쉼터 청소년, 일반 청소년, 일반청소년+쉼터청소년, 서비스 제공자 순으로 연구된 것으로 나타났다. 연구방법은 설명적 연구, 질적 연구, 통계DB분석, 실험연구 및 문헌연구 순으로 활용된 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 우리나라 가출청소년 연구의 경향성과 문제점을 분석하였고, 이 결과를 토대로 연구의 함의 및 향후 연구의 방향을 제언하였다.

This study attempts to review the research trends of 98 articles on runaway youth to conduct a content analysis in Korean journals from 2001 to 2010. 98 articles of 43 journals met criteria for inclusion in the review. The article focuses on the attempts to identify what topics and methods have been employed or neglected in Korean journals over the past ten years. The major findings were as follows: First, the result of the analysis by content categories indicates journal articles have focused on understanding the causes of becoming a runaway and offering service provision. Korean articles reveal more interests in addressing risk and protective factors for youth with homelessness experiences, as compared to non-runaway youth. Second, the analysis of sampling frames shows the articles have utilized ‘shelter youth sampling’ and ‘household samples or student samples’. Finally, the result of analysis by research methods indicates that ‘descriptive design’ is the most utilized research method. These findings highlight research trends and implications for future research are discussed.
