본 연구는 고등학생의 학교적응유연성에 따라 방어기제와 대처전략에서 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 살펴보기 위하여 수도권 광역시 소재 고등학교에 재학중인 남녀 고등학생 500명을 대상으로 설문조사하였고, 이 가운데 442명의 자료를 분석하였다. 역경 혹은 스트레스를 경험하고 학교생활에 대한 적응 수준에 따라 학교적응유연성 집단, 학교적응취약성 집단, 일반 적응 집단 등으로 집단을 분류하고, 이들 집단 간에 방어기제와 대처전략에서 차이가 있는지를 검증하였다. 검증 결과, 미성숙한 방어 유형과 갈등회피적 방어 유형에서 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 발견되었고, 적응적 방어 유형과 자기억제적 방어 유형에서는 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 또한 문제해결 중심 대처전략에서는 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 발견되었으나, 사회적 지지 추구와 회피 중심 대처전략에서는 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 이러한 연구 결과에 근거하여 생활지도와 상담적 개입에서 심리적 자원으로서의 학교적응유연성을 향상시키기 위하여 보다 적응적인 방어기제와 대처전략을 사용하도록 하는 방안이 모색되어야 함을 강조하였다.

This purpose of the present study was to examine the differences in defense mechnisms and coping strategies among three groups divided by school resilience. 442 high school students in the Metropolitan area were surveyed and data from them analyzed. First, Three groups included school resilient group which was exposed to adverse and stressful life evevts but achieved high level of adaptation, maladaptive group exposed to adverse and stressful life evevts but showed low level of adaptation, and general adaptation group whose members didn`t experience those events and showed high level of adaptation, There were significant differences among three groups in immature defense style and conflict-avoidant defense style, but no significant differences in adaptive defense style and self-inhibitory defense style. And there was significant difference among three groups in problem-solving coping strategy but there were no significant differences in social support seeking and avoidance coping strategies. Finally, the study`s limits and further discussion were suggested.
