본고에서는 4년제 대학 무용 커리큘럼의 체계적인 분석을 위해 교과목 코드체계 구축 방안을 모색하였다. 이를 위해 35개 4년제 대학 무용학과가 개설한 교과목들을 이론과목(A), 실기과목(B), 실용과목(C)으로 대분류한 다음 각각 13개, 9개, 9개로 중분류 한 후 각 과목에 대해 코드(Code)를 부여하였다. 코드체계를 이용하여 20개 학과의 개설과목을 분석하여 학과간 커리큘럼을 상호 비교하였다. 아직은 완전하지 않지만 무용학회 차원에서 무용교과목 분류코드를 만들어 혼란스러운 교과목 명칭들을 표준화 한다면 보다 효율적인 학사관리 및 커리큘럼 설계에 도움이 될 것이다. 더 나아가 전국 무용학과에 대해 매해 교과목 흐름을 조사한다면 한국 무용학과들의 거시적 통태를 파악할 수 있게 해줄 것이며 무용학과 평가에 활용한다면 경쟁력 제고에도 도움을 줄 것이다.

The curriculum of dance departments in Korean Universities has been analysed systematically by the code system of the subjects. The thirty-five dance departments were referenced to construct the code system of subjects opened for dance major students. The subjects are categorized and classified into theoretical(A), practical(B) and pragmatical(C) ones under the coding specifications suggested by this study. Using the obtained code system, the subjects offered by the twenty dance departments were analysed thoroughly and compared each other. Being not complete yet, the code system will take an enormous step forward if it is constructed at dance society level. The improved code system enables us to permit efficient educational management, systematic curriculum design and macroscopic understand of tendency among dance departments via annual survey, which can be used to evaluate the dance departments for the purpose of strengthening their competitiveness.
