The book KYORINSUJI which means essential knowledge of relations between neighboring countries. This book was written by AMENOMORI HOSU in the 17th century, and published by the Japanese Foreign Minister in 1881. The publishing aim of this book was to teach Korean learning to the Japanese people. SAGWAJINAM was written by J.S.Gale in 1894. SAGWA means the task of language, while JINAM means magnet and guide. This book`s English title was published as KOREAN GRAMMATICAL FORMS. Many people thought the latter book had nothing to do with the former book, but these two books had some connection in their contents. I researched the two books` lexical classification, arrangement and sentences. KORINSUJI consisted of three elements:The first was entries written using Chinese characters. The second was Japanese sentences containing there words in their entries. Third was Japanese-Korean conversation. In contrast, SAGWAJUINAM consisted of two parts, one was grammar and the other was sentences. The two books had something in common within their classification items, sentence`s structure and meaning. I think that the author of SAGWAJINAM was influenced by the former book while writing his works.
