이 연구에서는 연재만화대화 중재가 고기능 자폐성장애 아동의 사회적 상호작용에 미치는 효과에 대해 알아보았다. 일반 초등학교에 통합된 고기능 자폐성장애 아동 3명을 대상으로 대상자간 중다간헐기초선 설계를 사용하여 기초선, 중재, 유지 순으로 실험을 실시하였다. 중재는 주 3∼5회 특수학급에서 개별수업 시간에 실시하였으며 개별 아동이 특수학급에 첫 번째로 도착하는 쉬는 시간 10분 동안 관찰하여 또래 및 교사와의 사회적 상호작용의 변화를 살펴보았다. 그리고 중재의 대상 일반화를 알아보기 위하여 기초선, 중재, 유지 각 단계에 1회씩 대상 아동이 속한 통합학급에서 또래 및 교사와의 사회적 상호작용을 관찰하였다. 연구 결과, 고기능 자폐성장애 아동의 사회적 상호작용의 시작행동 및 반응행동이 증가하였으며 유지 및 일반화되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 연재만화대화 중재는 고기능 자폐성장애 아동의 사회적 상호작용에 효과적이며, 특히 마음이론(Theory of Mind)의 결함으로 인한 사회적 상호작용에 어려움을 보이는 고기능 자폐성장애 아동에게 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to examine effects of comic strip conversations intervention on social interaction of children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorders. For this study, three children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorders were selected and multiple probe design across participants has been used. Comic strip conversations intervention is effective for increasing social interactions of high-functioning autism spectrum disorders and also for generalizing and maintaining. Furthermore this study suggests teachers or related specialists have regard for a cause of social interactions and type of social skill deficit when they implement the comic strip conversations intervention.
