본 연구는 다문화 사회에서 주도적 역할을 담당할 대학생들의 문화적 역량 파악을 목적으로 부산지역 대학생 322명의 이문화 집단에 대한 편견의 양상과 문화교류 역량을 분석했다. 편견의 양상 분석 결과 행동적 측면인 사회적 거리감과 감정적 측면인 부정적 감정 모두에서 공통적으로 성정체성 이질 집단인 동성애자에 대한 편견의 정도가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 정도의 차이는 있지만 인종과 민족, 사회계층, 종교, 신체적 능력 등의 문화적 이질성 요소 전체에 대해 편견이 존재하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 문화교류 역량의 정도 분석결과 평균 3.32점으로 중간 이상의 문화적 역량을 가지고 있다고 볼 수 있지만, 원안 척도의 평균이 4.33점인 것과 비교하면 상대적으로 낮은 점수라고 할 수 있다. 6개의 하위 영역 중 문화공감 능력이 가장 높고 불확실성에 대한 인내력이 가장 낮았다. 그리고 성별, 학교 유형, 해외체류 경험, 외국어 능력, 다문화교육 경험 등이 문화교류 역량에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

This study explores the cultural competence of undergraduate students who will play a crucial role in a global and multicultural society. Total 322 students living in Busan responded the survey about the bias toward heterogeneous groups and cross-Cultural competency. The Students`` social distance and negative emotions toward the heterogeneous group gradually increases from the multi-cultural family, foreigner, the different social classes, the disabled person, the foreign workers to the homosexuals, They have a largest bias against the abnormal sexual identity, The level of students`` cross-cultural competence is just beyond intermediate level and the score of tolerance for ambiguity which is one of the subordinate factor of cross-cultural competence is the lowest. Comparing with the original scale, Korean university students` cultural competence is a considerably lower.
