唐代의 인물인 顔眞卿은 서예사상에서 王羲之에 버금가는 높은 평가를 받는 인물이다. 그러나 그의 서에 대한 평가는 왕희지의 서에 대한 평가와는 다른 義와 忠과 같은 도덕적 가치 기준에 근거하고 있으며, 이러한 가치 기준에 근거하여 안진경의 위상을 현재와 같은 지점에 확립시킨 이들은 歐陽脩, 蘇軾, 黃庭堅 그리고 米비과 같은 北宋시기의 등장한 신진 士大夫들이다. 그러나 그 동안의 연구에서는 이들의 평가에 대해서만 초점이 맞추어져, 이들 북송 사대부들이 그러한 관점에서 안진경을 평가하게 된 배경과 요인에 대해서는 논의가 미진하였다. 이에 본고에서는 먼저 『顔魯公集』, 『顔魯公文集』 중에 書藝와 관련하여 안진경의 자술적 성격을 가진 기록들을 살펴보고, 안진경이 서예가로서 자신과 자신의 書作을 어떻게 인식하고 있었는지 그 一端을 파악하고자 하였다. 그리고 기존의 왕희지를 중심으로 하는 전통적인 가치 평가가 견지되는 唐代에서 五代로 이어지는 안진경 평가의 흐름과 도덕적 가치 평가를 기반으로 하는 북송 사대부들의 관점이 어떠한 차이를 가지는 지를 보다 구체적으로 논의해 보았다. 더불어 이들 소식, 황정견, 미불 등, 이 시기 書壇에 주요한 인물들 간에 안진경 인식을 좀 구체적으로 살펴보고 그동안 다소 일원화되어있었던 안진경의 서에 대한 논의를 보다 입체적인 관점에서 파악하고자 하였다.
Yan Zhenqing(顔眞卿) was a leading Chinese calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty comparable to Wang Xizhi(王羲之) in the history of Chinese calligraphy. But the evaluation of Yan Zhenqing was largely based on his ethical characteristics such as his right conduct or loyalty. Those who put him on current reputed position based on these values were the advanced scholars who newly appeared in the Northern Song Dynasty such as Ouyang Xiu(歐陽脩), Su Shi(蘇軾), Huang Tingjian(黃庭堅) and Mi Fu(米비). In the previous research, the focus has been done on the evaluations of Yan Zhenqing made by these scholars. However, up to now, the study was not made enough on why Yan Zhenqing was evaluated by newly grown scholars in Northern Song Dynasty from that perspectives only. So, in this paper, it tried to find out the self described characteristics of Yan Zhenqing focusing on calligraphy described in his books of "Yanlugongji『顔魯公集』" and "Yanlugongwenji『顔魯公文集』" and how he recognized himself and his calligraphy. By observing the trend on the recognition of Yan Zhenqing in the period when Wang Xizhi was the leader in the value evaluation ranging from Tang Dynasty to Wudai Period(五代), I tried to find out how the perspective of scholars in Northern Song Dynasty changed in detail. In addition, I researched on the recognition of Yan Zhenqing by Su Shi, Huang Tingjian and Mi Fu in detail and expanded the discussion on the calligraphy of Yan Zhenqing to higher level.
