본 연구는 청소년의 게임중독이 등교거부경향성에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 이 관계에서 우울의 매개효과를 검증함으로써 청소년의 등교거부경향성을 감소시킬 수 있는 개입 방안을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 연구목적을 위해 비확률표본추출 중 이용가능한 표본추출방법을 사용하여 서울소재 4개 중학교 458명을 표집하여 조사를 수행하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 18.0을 사용하였으며 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였고 매개효과의 유의성을 검증하기 위해 Sobel test를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 게임중독이 등교거부경향성에 정적으로 유의미하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 게임중독이 우울에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 우울은 게임중독이 등교거부경향성에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 매개역할을 하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이러한 결과는 청소년의 등교거부경향성 예방을 위해서는 게임중독에 대한 적극적 개입과 우울 감소를 위한 노력이 필요함을 시사해주고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of game addiction on the school refusal and to define a mediating effect of depression in adolescents. To achieve this purpose, the data were collected from 458 students 4 middle schools in Seoul. The results of the analysis are as follows: First, it was proven that there is a positive relationship between game addiction and the school refusal. Second, it was demonstrated that there is a positive relationship between depression and the school refusal. Third, depression had a mediating effect in the relationship between game addiction and the school refusal. These results show that adolescents can reduce their fear of attending school by making efforts to reduce their game addiction and depression. Thus, this study also shows that programs that focus on reducing game addiction and depression are needed.
