Means of communication are mainly classified into verbal and nonverbal expression. In other words, they are linguistic communication with sounds and nonlinguistic communication with physical movement. The importance of two domains has consistently been improved through the studies of lots of scholars. When the communication is compositively expressed two domains, the transmission can be maximized. It is natural that the reception is more effective expressing with both sounds and a body compared to the expression with only one domain. From this point of view, a genre of theatrical art, which is expressed including two domains, is a musical. A musical includes the expression speciality with effect elements of production. Also it is no exaggeration to say that a musical gains popularity regarding it applies both of two communication means. Ultimately, musical actors who are expression agents should make their efforts to express sounds, linguistic communication, as well as to make specific movement through a nonlinguistic body. However, this is not the usual case on the spot. One reason among many ones is the absence of instruction institutions for basic physical training and the lack of educational program development. Thus, this study has recognized the problem of musical actors who are lack of physical training and examined how jazz dance is applied to physical training and how it is trained. This study has fundamentally been aimed at approaching the application of the most appropriate physical training by examining the characteristics of specific movement, warm-up movement in jazz dance which consists of stretching, isolation, pli?s, kick, jump, turn and bounce. In addition, continuous further studies on this area should be performed.
