As a good appearance is considered as one of the most important factors in a successful social life, the beauty industry has been enormous. With this trend, the national beauty therapy qualification was established in Republic of Korea in 2008. However, a number of issues have been arisen in practical aspects of the national beauty therapy qualifications. The main issue is that the required subjects of this qualification are not quite useful to the Korean beauty industries. Therefore, most of these qualification holders get trained again to learn practical skills and techniques in employments. To improve these matters, this paper has got some answers from international prestigious beauty therapy qualification, CIDESCO and ITEC. These are known as effective and professional qualification with loads of accredited centers all over the world. Even a great number of Korean beauty therapists and academies have given a great deal of attention on these qualifications. Due to mandatory learning hours, work experience and project/case studies, these qualifications can be trusted by professional beauty workers. It also provides wide ranges of knowledge and useful skills to fit into the employment well. This paper suggest what need to be reformed in the national beauty therapy qualification in comparison to CIDESCO·ITEC, and also suggest more detailed and specific diplomas, various ways of assessments, useful and practical subjects, etc.
