이 연구는 대구와 경북지역에 거주하는 장애아동 부모 189명을 대상으로 첫째, 장애아동이 가족에 미치는 긍정적 기여에 대한 부모의 인식이 어떠한 가를 살펴보고, 둘째, 양육부담과 긍정적 기여와의 관계를 파악하며, 셋째, 장애아동의 긍정적 기여에 대한 부모의 인식이 가족적응에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 마지막으로 양육부담이 가족적응에 미치는 부정적 영향력을 긍정적 기여가 얼마나 상쇄할 수 있는 가를 알아보기 위해 긍정적 기여의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 장애아동의 긍정적 기여에 대한 부모의 인식정도는 4점 만점에 2.66점으로 비교적 긍정적으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 긍정적 기여에 대한 부모인식은 장애아동의 발달주기와 장애유형에 따라 차이가 있었다. 장애아동 양육경험의 부정적 측면인 양육부담과 긍정적 측면인 긍정적 기여 간에는 약한 정도의 부적 상관(r=-.263)이 존재하는 것으로 조사되었다. 장애아동의 긍정적 기여에 대한 부모의 인식은 가족적응에 정적 영향력(β=.537)을 가지며, 양육부담(β=-.157)에 비해 영향력이 더 큰 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 마지막으로 장애아동 가족의 양육부담이 가족적응과 관계에서 재평가에 해당하는 긍정적 기여에 대한 부모인식은 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구결과를 바탕으로 장애아동 가족에 대한 사회복지의 실천적 함의와 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시했다.

There has been increasing recognition of the importance of asking more positive questions about the perceptions and experiences of families of children with disabilities. However, this recognition has not yet had an observable impact on publication trends. The aims of this study were to investigate parent`s perception of positive contributions made by children with disabilities in the family, and the relationship between the parenting burdens and positive contributions, and the impact of parent`s perception of positive contributions made by children with disabilities in the family on the family adaptation, finally, the mediating effect of parent`s perception of positive contributions made by children with disabilities. Data from 189 parents of children with disabilities who had used social service facilities and a school for the disability. There are the research results. First, the level of parent`s perception of positive contributions made by children with disabilities showed high level(2.66) and was different, based upon the kinds of the disabilities and the life span of disabled child. The parenting burden was negatively correlated with the parent`s perception of positive contributions made by children with disabilities. The parent`s perception of positive contributions made by children with disabilities had an direct effect on the family adaptation and more. On the verification of the effect of parent`s perception of positive contributions made by children with disabilities as the mediator, parent`s perception of positive contributions revealed possessing the partial mediating effect.
