본 논문은 다문화사회로 이행해가는 우리사회에서 농촌지역 여성결혼이민자의 평생학습 방향에 관하여 탐색하고자 하였다. 선행연구들을 통해 정부주도의 다문화정책과 충남지역의 사례를 통해, 농촌지역 여성결혼이민자의 특성과 평생학습 환경을 분석하고 이후 평생학습의 방향과 지향점을 생각해 보았다. 결론적으로 농촌지역 여성결혼이민자의 평생학습은 기초문해, 생활문해, 문화문해를 넘어 학습두레 형성을 통한 지역사회와의 상호작용과 소통을 통한 자기성찰과 민주화, 사회참여를 가능하게 하는 역량강화를 향해 나아가야한다.

This study is to analyze the direction of the lifelong learning for marriage migrant women in a rural community. For the purpose of this study is to analyze the situations of programs and nation`s policies and case study of Chungnam province for marriage migrant women. The outcome and suggestions of this research are as follows. The direction of the lifelong learning for marriage migrant women in a rural community should aim at empowering migrant women by enabling them to understand each other`s cultural differences and recognize the importance of communication and networking. The multicultural education to be dealt here is education that encourages women to actively and diversely express themselves in their local communities to the effect that prejudices and discriminations are broken down.
