일본은 최근 거대한 정치적 변동을 경험하고 있다. 2009년 8월 30일 중의원 총선거에서 민주당이 54년 자민당 장기집권을 무너뜨리고 권력을 장악했다. 민주당의 집권은 ``신자유주의``와 ``내셔널리즘`` 결합을 내용으로 하던 이전 자민당 정권의 국가전략을 크게 변화시킬 것으로 전망되고 있다. 이 논문은 탈냉전기 일본의 국가전략, 특히 민주당 집권 이후 일본의 국가전략에 대한 간명한 설명을 모색한다. 이 논문은 여섯부분으로 구성된다. 첫째, 탈냉전의 붕괴가 일본의 발전국가 시스템에 미친 영향을 분석한다. 둘째, 이전 자민당 정권의 국가전략의 구조인 ``신자유주의``와 ``내셔널리즘``의 모순적 결합전략에 대해 분석한다. 셋째, 2009년 총선거에서 집권정당이 변화된 이유를 설명한다. 넷째, 집권 민주당의 안보 및 외교전략을 탈냉전기 민족주의의 구조와 연관해 설명한다. 다섯째, 민주당의 집권으로 인한 신자유주의에 대한 대안적 경제모델의 등장 가능성에 대해서 논한다. 마지막으로 민주당의 새로운 국가전략의 가능성(시사점)과 과제에 대해서 간단히 논한다. 이러한 설명을 통해서 이 논문은 민주당의 새로운 국가전략이 이전 자민당 정권의 외교 및 경제정책을 크게 변화시키겠지만, 그와 동시에 이전 자민당 정권의 전략과 일정 정도 연속성을 가질 수밖에 없음을 보여준다.

Japan has recently undergone a huge transformation with its change in government. At last the Democratic Party of Japan (the DPJ) took power with its resounding victory in the general election of the House of Representatives on August 30th. Rule of the DP brings with it its expectations of significant changes in Japan`s previous national strategy which was the integration of ``neo-liberalism`` and ``nationalism``. This paper makes brief explanations on the Japanese national strategies in the post-Cold War era, particularly after the Democratic Party of Japan`s seizure of power. This paper is composed of 6 parts. First, I will address the influence of the collapse of the Cold War on the Japan`s developmental state. Second, I will explain the previous ruling party, the Liberal Democratic Party`s national strategy in the post-Cold War era. Third, I`ll try to make an analysis on the reason why the ruling party was changed in the s c9 general election. Fourth, I`ll try to explain the ruling DP`s security policies or diplomatic strategy focusing on the structure of nationalism. Fifth, I`ll address the possibilities of the alternative economic model beyond neo-liberalism due to the DP`s seizure of power. Finally, I`d like to briefly address some possibilities and tasks of the new national strategy of the DP. On conclusion I`ll argue in this paper, that while the DP`s strategy may bring considerable change in the former LDP-led foreign and economic policies, it may inevitably have to retain some consistencies with the former Cabinets.
